Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has declared the opposition’s unwavering determination to reclaim power in the 2028 elections, despite alleged intimidation and political persecution.

Speaking after the debate on the 2025 Budget Statement on March 25, 2025 Afenyo-Markin accused the Mahama government of using state institutions to harass political opponents.

“You can arrest all of us, but we will remain resolute. No amount of intimidation will break our spirit. In 2028, we will defeat you and restore true governance to this country”.

The Minority Leader criticized the governing party’s alleged misuse of the justice system to silence dissent, emphasizing that governance should prioritize national development over political witch-hunting.

He urged his colleagues in opposition to remain steadfast and not be deterred by what he described as “politically motivated arrests.”

Afenyo-Markin reassured supporters of the Minority’s commitment to defending democracy and holding the government accountable, stating, “Ghanaians are watching, and they will decide in 2028.”
