Shatta Wale polled 50 percent while the Bhim Nation president, Stonebwoy had 30 percent with Sarkodie and Kuami Eugene polling 15 percent each.

The 2019 VGMA is slated for Saturday, May 18. This year’s edition happens to be special as it coincides with the 20th-anniversary celebrations of the award.

However, Shatta Wale failed to attend a dinner organized for nominees of the VGMA 2019 on friday which saw Samini, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Wendy Shay and others attending.

The dinner is part of the activities leading to the main event on Saturday night.

Artistes who will be competing in this year’s artist of the year category are King Promise, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Joe Mettle and Kuami Eugene.
