GPL Week 6 Preview: Can Scientific Soccer lads halt Miners machine?
Match Day Six of the Ghana Premier League continue at various league centers in midweek fixtures and at the Dansoman Carl Reindorf Park, Liberty Professionals welcome league leaders, Ashanti Gold SC.
Liberty Professionals recorded their first win of the season last weekend at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium playing away from home against debutant, Eleven Wonders and will be ready to thrill football fans in their Match Day Six encounter.
Having won their first game of the season at the Len Clay Sports Stadium, Liberty Professionals will be playing the “owners” of the grounds and will also want to get another victory to relieve them from their relegation scare, thus far this season.
The Dansoman Carl Reindorf Park has been a good grounds for Liberty Professionals against Ashanti Gold SC  with the Scientific Soccer Lads recording their biggest victory against The Miners in 2016 by 5-1.
On their route to the 2015 league triumph, Ashanti Gold SC picked up all three points through Yakubu Mohammed on the 7th minutes at the Carl Reindorf Park and with Ashanti Gold leading the table and tipped to win the league, a victory will encapsulated their quest to clinch the diadem this season.
In the last seven years, Ashanti Gold SC have lost four times at the Carl Reindorf Park against Liberty Professionals and have won twice in seven games and will place Liberty Professionals at a good corner to snatch victory in their Match Day Six encounter at the hands of Ashanti Gold SC.
Midfield anchor, James Akaminko has returned to training for Ashanti Gold SC after picking up a knock against Asante Kotoko SC last Sunday and should be available against Liberty Professionals.
Roland Amozou who was suspended before their game against Kotoko returns for selection for Ashanti Gold whilst Liberty Professionals should have their full arsenals to face The Miners.
Liberty Professionals will not be looking back to return to their slumbers in the early stages of the league after that sweet victory on Sunday against Eleven Wonders and a win is what they will be going out for at their comfort zone which will raise them away from the relegation drop line.
Ashanti Gold SC will fairly have a firm grip of the 2017/18 league in their left hand should they get a win against Liberty Professionals and C.K. Akunnor will have a stern battle to shrug off against Coach Reginald of Liberty Professionals.
