WAFA SC overcame a stubborn Karela United side after coming from behind to win 3-1 on match day 16 of the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.

The League leaders were off to a flying start as they stunned the home side after just 15 minutes of play through inform striker Kwame Boateng. The former Asante Kotoko man was on hand to tap home a beautiful build up that involved about eight players.

WAFA SC mounted pressure and scored to draw level five minutes later courtesy of an equalizer from Augustine Boakye.

Maintaining the momentum, Ntim Manu also got his name on the scoresheet a minute after the half-hour mark to shoot WAFA SC into the lead for the first time in the match.

Although Karela United will play well especially in the second half, the team could not score. Lawrence Agyekum popped up in added time to score the 3rd goal for the Academy boys as they walked home with a 3-1 win.

The win is their first in three games after drawing with AshantiGold at home and losing to Inter Allies away.

WAFA who have yet to lose a home game in the ongoing season, sit in 9th place with 22 points.
