The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has announced the postponement of the implementation of the Tariff Interpretation Order (TIO) under the Energy Sector Levies (Amendment) Act, 2025 (Act 1141), which was initially scheduled to take effect on June 16, 2025.
In an official statement signed by the Commissioner-General, Mr. Anthony Kwasi Sarpong, the GRA indicated that the directive follows instructions from the Minister of Finance after extensive consultations with relevant stakeholders.
The decision affects the anticipated increase in the Energy Sector Shortfall and Debt Repayment Levy (ESSDRL) on selected petroleum products.
The revised levies were expected to be enforced from mid-June but have now been put on hold until further notice.
