Happy 98.9 FM marked the 20th anniversary celebration of its Valentine Mass Wedding initiative on February 14, 2025 by honouring six partners who have contributed to the success of one of Ghana’s longest community investment initiative. The glamorous ceremony, which united nine couples in matrimony, represented the continuation of a community investment initiative that has benefited over 800 couples throughout its two-decade history.

The 20th Anniversary edition of Happy Valentine Mass Wedding and reception was held at Bethel Baptist Church, South Odorkor.

During the ceremony, Dr. Timothy Karikari, Director of Broadcasting at GMABC, emphasized the remarkable achievement of sustaining a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative for two decades, acknowledging the dedicated partners who have supported the program throughout its journey.

The Hall of Fame inductees included:
– Mr. Charles Osei Asibey ; recognized for the role he played in driving the Happy FM Mass Wedding initiative during his tenure as Manager of Happy FM and his constant assistance even after he bowed out as head of the brand.
– Rev. Canon Dr. Selwyn Sylvanus Adama Okai, Deputy Director of Prisons and Chief Religious Affairs Officer of Ghana Prison Service, honoured for his long-standing service as the officiating pastor
– 2nd Image International; acknowledged for their consistent excellence as the Official Grooming and Make-Up Partner
– Mama Aliquah of Aliquah Home of Fashion; celebrated for her outstanding contribution in providing wedding gowns.
– Cake Tekniks, recognized for their role as the Official Cake Partner
– Mrs. Ellen Akosua Gyamerah-Ako and her late husband, Mr. Manfred Kofi Gyamerah-Ako (of blessed memory), honoured for their dedicated service as Marriage Counsellors to the initiative

The success of this enduring initiative has been made possible through the generous support of numerous corporate sponsors. This year’s celebration was supported by Blue Jeans Energy Drink, Tasty Tom and Tasty Tom Seasoning, Perla Water, Kasapreko, Twinnie’s Kraft, Hannah Moore Fashion, 2nd Image, Your Chicken & Chips, Zohar Studios, TSG Drive, Global Media Alliance, EProductions, YFM, YTV, Ark Hotel Apartment, PMI, and Yoofi Clothing. These partners have maintained their support for periods ranging from over ten to 20 years, demonstrating unprecedented commitment to the initiative. Their contributions have helped hundreds of couples formalize their unions with dignity and joy, establishing the Happy FM Valentine Mass Wedding as a cherished tradition in the community.

The 20th-anniversary celebration not only commemorated past achievements but also reinforced Happy FM’s commitment to continuing this noble initiative that has become a cornerstone of their community service efforts. During the ceremony, the honorees were presented with citations by Ambassador Edward Boateng, Founder of Global Media Alliance Group and Ghana’s former Ambassador to China, alongside Mr. Ernest Boateng, Group CEO of Global Media Alliance Group.
