Creative Director of the Comedy and Poetry Awards, Dennis Boateng, has commended Happy FM for its immense support to the Ghanaian comedy industry.

Speaking with Doctar Cann on Ghana’s favorite Saturday entertainment show, Showbiz Xtra, he acknowledged that it was a great initiative on Happy FM’s part to dedicate the whole month of August to promoting our comedians.

“Happy FM has done very well. They have helped the comedy industry a lot because it is not every media platform that gives such opportunity to our local comedians. If we had this with every media house, the comedy industry would be well on its feet by now”, he said.

Dennis urged media houses and everyone else who has the capacity, to aid in pushing Ghanaian comedians and the comedy industry as a whole because they need all the push and support they can get.

“The comedians also need a lot of sponsorship. You’ll realize that all the sponsorship that goes in the entertainment is mainly for the music aspect but we also need sponsorships in comedy and poetry because these two are the best industries we can sell apart from music”, he further concluded.
