After successfully organizing the Happy FM, Lakeside Marina Family Fun Run on Independence Day this year, Happy FM, Ghana’s number one sports station, in collaboration with Lakeside Marina Park (LMP), has donated some items to the Mercy Social Centre at Adenta, to support the continuous care of the children in the centre.

This forms part of theirCorporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and a fulfilment of a pledge by both Happy FM and Lakeside Marina Park (LMP) to commit a percentage of proceeds from the Family Fun Run event to support the needy.

Items donated to the Mercy Social Centre on May 8 include; bags of rice, cartons of milk, boxes of noodles, cartons of milo, sacks of maize, packs of sugar and toiletries worth at over GHS 2,500.

Speaking at the donation, Emmanuel Akrumah, Programs Manager at Happy FM, said, “As part of our commitment to positively impact people in our society, we deem it necessary to give back to society in every little way possible. This is not the first time Happy FM and Lakeside Marina Park have collaborated to make donations to the Mercy Social Centre . So far as we continue to organize the Family Fun Run every year, we will also continue to donate a percentage of the proceeds from the event to the needy. We thank all our sponsors and supporters for helping us make this year’s Family Fun Run a success.”

Salah Kweku Kalmoni, Director of the Lakeside Estate, disclosed that “ This year we set aside GHS 7 from each registration during the 9th edition of the annual Happy FM, Lakeside Marina Park Family Fun Run held on Independence Day, to be donated to the needy. Without our participants, we would not be here today giving to the Mercy Social Centre. Our sincere gratitude to all who registered, participated, sponsored and supported the Family Fun Run this year.”

The management of Mercy Social Centre in turn expressed their gratitude for the hand of support extended to by Happy FM and Lakeside Marina Park.

“We are humbled by this kind gesture and urge other organizations to emulate this and donate to the Mercy Social Centre,” Anas Yakubu ,a supervisor at Mercy Social Centre said.
