To her fans and critics alike, her nomination in the GOWA Sports Journalists category is the confirmation of her enormous contributions to sports especially women sports in Ghana.

Speaking about her nomination Ayishatu said: ‘’I go to work every morning and go about my duties as a producer, reporter and presenter with so much enthusiasm because it gives me the platform to advocate for the marginalized in society –that is a privilege not many have and I am grateful to Allah and my employers for the opportunity.

Recently, I broke the news that Hassacas ladies have to go to Côte d’Ivoire by road and that led to many people, including the Vice President Dr Bawumia coming to the rescue of the players and they won the CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU Zone B qualifying tournament. That is why I wake up every morning and go to work.’’

She also said being a woman in sports is a bit challenging but for her, the rewards are immeasurable.

‘’Through sports, I have interviewed big names on the continent including, Fatma Samoura, the Secretary-General of FIFA, Laura George, Secretary-General at the French Football Federation among a host of others,’’ she said.

Head of Sports for Happy 98.9 FM Wofa Odiasempa Kwame Oware expressed pride in Ayisha’s work since she joined the Happy Sports team.

‘’Ayisha is an asset to the team she brings a lot of energy and exuberance to her work only a few can muster. Being the only lady in the sports team hasn’t stopped her from being the best she holds her own and always makes sure we include stories that highlight women in sports. Go Ayisha, the world is your oyster,’’ he stated.
