HappyFM’s intra Community Salahfest contest reaches Tema

Ghana’s leading radio brand, Happy98.9FM, has rocked Tema with the intra community SalahFest cooking contest.

The contest saw two teams each from Madina, Ashaiman and Sabon Zongo’s battling at the forecourt of the Tema Municipal Assembly (TMA) on Saturday May 28, 2022 to book spots at the finals in July.

Contestants who were in teams of three (3) prepared amazing rice based dishes from the Zongo community with Royal Aroma Fortified Perfumed rice to book a place in the finals.

Team Ak)n)ba will lead the charge and represent Madina at the ultimate contest with team Maaggee representing Ashaiman Zongo.
Team Pretty Ladies will also represent Sabon Zongo come June at the Chief Imam’s residence, Fadama.

Programmes Manager of Happy98.9FM, Elwoode Mantey, explained contestants were scored based on taste, creativity/presentation, cooking technique, neatness, nutrition and health and time.

He disclosed the contest which has already gained momentum will see the winner at the grand finale walk home with a Gh₵20,000 prize pot including a fat cow.

He urged various Zongo communities to partake in the contest to promote sportsmanship and unity.

Communities to participate in the contest include Nima, Abeka, Ashaiman, Kasoa, Fadama, Mamobi, Alajo, Gaskia Zongo/Sabon Zongo, Tuba Zongo, Madina.
