Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Ernest Sowah: I'm happy to be back

Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Ernest Sowah has expressed his delight with his debut performance in their 1-1 draw against Medeama SC last Sunday.
The experienced custodian completed a two-and-a-half-year deal to the Phobians last month as a free agent from sworn rivals Asante Kotoko.
Sowah was chosen between the sticks ahead of first choice goalkeeper Benjamin Mensah for the match against Medeama SC – where he excelled despite their failure to pick maximum points from the game.
“We played very well and personally think I did quite okay too considering that I haven’t played in a competitive game for a very long time,” Sowah told his club’s official website.
“It has been a difficult moment for me but I am just happy to be back playing and playing for a big team like Accra Hearts of Oak.
“The Medeama match is my first game and I think there is more to come from me.
“I felt bad with the officiating but we have to dust ourselves up and look forward to our next game.”
Sowah’s move to Hearts marked the end of his misery, having been frozen out at Kotoko for long over issues of trust.
“After God, it’s the fans that are holding me,” the Ghana international added.
“I thank them for the support and I want to work hard and make them proud with my performance for the team.”
He joined Kotoko on a three-year contract in 2015 following a one-year spell with Congolese club Don Bosco.
He previously played for Berekum Chelsea and now lower-tier side Tema youth.
The shot-stopper was one of Ghana’s three goalkeepers at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
