Retired Peter Toobu argued that the officers failed to back their claims including extra judicial killings with evidence. Chairman of the committee Samuel Atta Akyea however vehemently disagreed with the assertions. According to the Abuakwa South MP, the minority members of the committee blocked the invitation of a witness whose testimony could have assisted in determining the veracity of the extra judiciary killings allegations.

The development resulted in some heated exchanges compelling the speaker to suspend sittings. After resumption, the speaker stood down the item inviting the committee to a meeting to thrash out their differences.
