Hollard Ghana with subsidiaries Hollard Insurance and Hollard Life’s Asomdwee MSME Insurance, has been named as Product of the Year (Services) at the prestigious Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) Awards, held over the weekend at the plush Labadi Beach Hotel.

The recognition underscores Hollard’s commitment to financial inclusion by designing customer-centric insurance solutions that empower Ghana’s micro, small, and medium-scale enterprises (MSMEs).

Commenting on the win, Group CEO of Hollard Ghana, Patience Akyianu, said: “We are deeply honoured to have Hollard’s Asomdwee MSME Insurance recognised as Product of the Year by CIMG. This award reaffirms our purpose of enabling more people to create and secure a better future. At Hollard, we believe insurance should not only protect livelihoods but also empower dreams. Asomdwee is more than a product, it’s a testament to our dedication to Ghanaian entrepreneurs that their hard work, businesses, and families matter. Through this product, we are strengthening Ghana’s economy while removing long-standing barriers to financial support”.

“Notably, Asomdwee has also been recognised locally and globally receiving the Product Innovation Award and Impact Award from Ghana Insurance Awards and Tokio Marine Group respectively, underscoring its relevance in reshaping MSME resilience. We dedicate this award to our customers, our partner GEA, and the countless MSMEs who inspire us to keep innovating for Ghana’s future,” she added.

The citation from CIMG commended Asomdwee’s transformational impact, noting: “Asomdwee MSME Insurance ensures accessibility to business operators of varying sizes, including those in the informal sector often excluded from traditional insurance. With no waiting period for claims, simplified onboarding, and a focus on trust-building, Hollard has broken barriers of cultural mistrust and low awareness of insurance, while promoting resilience among traders, artisans, and small-scale retailers. This initiative has been further amplified by a robust nationwide marketing campaign spanning roadshows, trader-union engagements, local-language radio, and community activations across 40 districts”.

Asomdwee MSME Insurance is structured in bronze, silver, and gold packages, allowing businesses to choose the level of coverage that matches their operational size and financial capacity. It offers financial security against business disruptions caused by fire, burglary, liability claims, and even life-threatening personal events such as disability or critical illness.

Through this innovative product, Hollard is empowering Ghana’s informal sector with peace of mind, business continuity, and a strong foundation for financial inclusion among underserved entrepreneurs.
