I am ready to fight the virus should I test positive – Elikem Kumordzie

Ghanaian actor and fashion designer Elikem Kumordzie has disclosed that he will do whatever it takes to beat the coronavirus should he be infected by it.

According to him, his test has come out negative but he’s still bracing himself for any eventuality.

Elikem the tailor, who is currently under quarantine after returning to Ghana from South Africa said, ” Samples were taken from us for testing which came back negative. It was a relief for us and I hope it’s not a psychological gimmick being played on us. They tell us we’re fine and later tell us we’re not. But if I truly have the virus, I am very ready to fight and overcome it.”

According to him, he was even planning on going into self quarantine for 2 weeks upon his arrival in Ghana and is happy the government took the initiative to quarantine all persons arriving in Ghana last week.
“Some people may have the virus and still show no sign of it. They will keep moving around and infect a lot of people without knowing it. So I planned to quarantined myself upon reaching Ghana,” he said.

The only problem Elikem had about the quarantine was the flow of information. “The way information is disseminated to us is not cool. People on the outside receive information about us even before we do and that is bad,” he noted.

The actor told Ghanians to disregard people in quarantine that are complaining unnecessarily and commended the government for instituting the mandatory quarantine which he believes has saved Ghana from a large scale outbreak of the coronavirus.
