President-elect John Dramani Mahama is optimistic of a smooth and transparent transition as the team are jointly inaugurated to ensure a smooth and seamless transfer of power.
According to him, the constitution of the transitional team is very effective and he believes the team would work in cooperation and with mutual respect as well as fulfil the wishes of the Ghanaian people.
Speaking during the inauguration of the joint transition team, Mr. Mahama mentioned the pressure and expectations of the transition team to come out with good work as the expectations from Ghanaians are huge.
‘’There is huge expectations that this transition team will get its work right, so that we have a seamless and smooth transition of power from one democratically elected government to another’’.
He mentioned that, President Akufo Addo has given him an earlier briefing on critical matters of national importance in the areas of the economy and security.
‘’I also want to thank His Excellency the president for his kind invitation this morning to visit his office to discuss preliminary issues before the inauguration of the transition team. I also want to thank him for the early briefing he gave me on issues of critical national importance in respect of national security and economy’’.
