The Former Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Mavis Hawa Koomson, has alleged that she was physically assaulted and had her mobile phone forcibly taken while observing the ongoing election rerun in the Ablekuma North Constituency.
In a statement released on her Facebook page, Madam Koomson said she was attacked by individuals she described as “NDC machomen” while peacefully monitoring the electoral process. She revealed that her phone was snatched during the assault.
“During this unfortunate incident, my personal mobile phone was forcibly taken,” she stated.
As a result, the former minister has cautioned the public against engaging with any communication originating from her phone number or social media accounts following the incident.
“Any calls, messages, social media posts, or broadcasts originating from my number from the time of the incident onwards should be treated as unauthorized and not from me,” she warned.
She urged everyone to disregard any such communication until she regained full control of her digital platforms.
