The Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) has set the dates for its first and second presidential debates on October 22 and November 19, 2024, respectively. In a statement, the IEA also announced plans for one vice-presidential debate and five evening encounters in the lead-up to the December 7 elections.
The Vice Presidential debate is scheduled for November 5, 2024. The first of five evening encounters will take place on Wednesday, September 18, with the final one set for Tuesday, October 15. However, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that its flagbearer will not participate in the debates, citing concerns about the credibility of the organizers.
