I’m mindful of our next generation not next election – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo, in his third state of the Nations address, has stated that he is determined to lay a strong foundation for the progress of the country by the end of his first term.

The Nana Adddo-led administration has been criticized by the opposition after it introduced a number of reforms in the educational sector including the double-track system at the senior high school.

To mitigate the deficit in educational facilities in Senior High Schools, caused by increase in enrolment in the number of student intake due to the implementation of the Free Senior High School policy.

But addressing Parliament in the 2019 State of the Nation Address (SONA), the President said his administration’s focus is not about winning the next election but rather, for the generation unborn.

“I am bent on running a responsible administration mindful of the next generation and not the next election,” he stated.
