Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey made a return from injury against Norwich as they picked their first win of the league season at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

The 28-year-old missed Arsenal’s last three games of the season due to injury.

Partey picked up the injury in a preseason friendly against Chelsea which ruled him out for several weeks.

The injury prevented him from playing for the Black Stars in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and South Africa earlier this month.

The former Atletico Madrid midfielder has recovered and was handed his first game of the season against Norwich.

Arsenal had lost their first three games of the season without their star midfielder before the international break.

Mikel Arteta blamed his side’s poor start to the season due to the absence of some influential players such as Thomas Partey.

In an interview, he demanded that the Ghanaian International takes up responsibility as one of the leaders in the team.

Partey did just that on his arrival on the pitch as he started the attack that led to Arsenal’s goal scored by captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Black Stars deputy captain after the game thanked the fans for the support after making a return from injury.

“Thank you #Gunners for the support. It feels good to be back to the team. +3 points”.

Arsenal play their next game against Burnley.
