Black Stars forward, Kwabena Owusu has expressed his delight at representing the Black Stars Ghana at the 2019 AFCON.

Kwabena Owusu caught the eye of the senior national team handlers after an impressive showing with the national U-23 side, the Black Meteors.

The Leganés attacker then received his first senior national team call-up when coach Kwesi Appiah released his initial 30 man squad for the AFCON.

In a post on his official Twitter handle after the Black Stars defeated Guinea Bissau to qualify for the round 16 stage of the ongoing AFCON,
Kwabena Owusu expresses his delight at representing Ghana and also playing with the current crop of Black Stars players.

“It’s a honor for me to play with these players and my national team”. He wrote.

Kwabena Owusu was a substitute in Ghana’s goal less draw game in their second group game against Cameroon.

His performance earned him a starting role in the penultimate group game against Guinea Bissau where the Black won by two goals to nil.

The Black Stars will play the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia on Monday 8th July 2019 in their round of 16 game.
