The deputy minister for Trade and Member of Parliament for Tema West Carlos Ahenkorah has resigned, the presidency has confirmed.

The minister was given an ultimatum to resign or be fired after it emerged that he flouted all the Covid-19 protocols having contracted the contagion and visited registration centres.

According to Mr Ahenkorah, he was admitted at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Thursday but was discharged on Friday morning after his condition improved.
