Kamaldeen Sulemana officially joins Atalanta from Southampton

Black Stars winger, Kamaldeen Sulemana has officially completed his transfer from Southampton to Italian Serie A side Atalanta.

Kamaldeen Sulemana on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, completed the €17m fee + €4m add-ons to Atalanta from Southampton who will be playing in the Championship in the upcoming season after being relegated from the Premier League.

“Atalanta BC is pleased to announce that it has permanently acquired from Southampton FC the rights to the sports performances of Ghanaian footballer Kamaldeen Sulemana, a 23-year-old Ghanaian who in his still young career has made 44 appearances (with 3 goals and 2 assists) in the Premier League.”

“34 appearances (with 5 goals and 2 assists) in Ligue 1, 25 appearances (with 3 assists) in the English Championship, 42 appearances (with 14 goals and 5 assists) in the Danish Superliga, as well as 4 appearances (with 2 assists) in the UEFA Europa League and 6 appearances (with 1 goal) in the UEFA Conference League,” part of the statement released by Atalanta read.

Atalanta who expressed their happiness about the signing of the Ghanaian international wished him the best of luck ahead of his new journey in the city of Bergamo.

“The Percassi family, the Pagliuca family and the entire Nerazzurri Club extend a warm welcome to Kamaldeen, wishing him the best of success – both personally and as a team – in the Nerazzurri shirt.”
