Karela United FC displayed another impressive performance to beat giants Asante Kotoko SC 3-1 at the Crosby Awuah Memorial park on Wednesday.

The Porcupine Warriors came into the game with some changes in the team that lost to Hearts of Oak last weekend.

Back from injury Sadick Adams was handed his first league appearance of the season whilst Kwame Boahene and Jordan Opoku returned to the starting lineup.
The game was fairly balanced in the first twenty minutes of the game with both teams creating little or no scoring opportunities.
In the 23rd minute, Asante Kotoko SC had the first attempt on goal after they caught Karela United FC on the break but stalwart defender Abdul Ganiu Ismail was there to make an important block.
Just a minute later left back Imoro Ibrahim with a left footed thunderous long drive beat goalkeeper Felix Annan to the hosts in the lead.
The Porcupine Warriors got back into the game after Burkina Faso import Songne Yacouba benefited from a huge defensive blunder to level the scoring.
On the stroke of halftime, Abdul Ganiu Ismail scored from the spot to make it 2-1 to Karela United FC after Diewusie Taylor was brought down inside the box.
Sierra Leone international forward Donald Wellington nearly increased the tally but his header from a corner kick went wide.
72 minutes on, winger Maxwell Baakoh excellently struck the third for the newcomers a delicious left footed curled shot.
Felix Annan made a wonderful save in the 76th minute to prevent William Opoku Mensah from getting Karela United FC’s fourth.
The massive victory has seen the Pride and Passion side move to 3rd on the league table.
The Nzema lads will make a trip to Dansoman to face Liberty Professionals next weekend, Asante Kotoko SC will entertain Bechem United at the Baba Yara stadium.
