
Kennedy Agyapong, the sitting MP for Assin Central in the Central Region on Wednesday (21 June) submitted his completed forms to contest the flagbearership of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Accompanied by scores of supporters, including, party officials past and present and youth group activists who share in his vision, he presented the forms at the NPP headquarters in Accra.
Addressing journalists after filing his nomination, Agyapong promised to reduce unemployment in the country if given the nod.
“As a Member of Parliament for the past 23 years, I have to admit that the challenge of the government and successive governments is unemployment. And therefore, I have taken it upon myself to make sure I reduce unemployment in this country, I want those of you watching to believe in me that whatever I say, by the Grace of God and with good health, I will deliver,” Agyapong said.
