The Kenyans in Ghana Association (KGA) successfully hosted its 2025 Family Fun Day this past Saturday 10th May, 2025, bringing together over 120 members of the Kenyan community in Ghana for a day filled with laughter, connection, and celebration.
Held at University of Ghana, Athletic Oval Field, the event welcomed both adults and children for an unforgettable afternoon of games, food, music, and community bonding. From the three-legged race and football matches to dance-offs and painting for the kids, the day catered to every age group and interest.

The Family Fun Day, which is a highlight on KGA’s annual calendar, is designed to promote unity and provide a platform for Kenyans living in Ghana to network, relax, and celebrate their shared identity. This year’s event stood out for its vibrant energy, excellent organization, and most importantly, a safe and injury-free environment for all.
Families showed up in their team colored shirts ready for the fun and games. Children ran freely across the lawns while adults joined in the competitive games with just as much energy and cheer.

The Ag. High Commissioner of the Kenya High Commission in Ghana, Mr. Kottut, who was also the Guest of Honor on the day in his remarks noted: “This event truly captured the warmth, resilience, and unity of Kenyans living abroad. It was wonderful to see our community in Ghana reconnect through fun and laughter. At the High Commission, we are proud to be part of such initiatives that bring our diaspora together.”

Speaking on behalf of the Association, the Chairperson, Ms. Emma Wenani said “We are incredibly proud of how this year’s event turned out. It is always heartwarming to see families come together and enjoy themselves. Events like this remind us of the importance of community and connection, even when we’re far from home.”
The success of the Family Fun Day would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors and partners, including the Kenya High Commission, Unity Homes, Multi Pac Ghana Ltd and FanMilk.
KGA extends heartfelt thanks to all attendees, volunteers, and sponsors who made the day a memorable one. We look forward to building on this success in future events that continue to strengthen the Kenyan community in Ghana.
