The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has clarified that the check-in system disruption at Kotoka International Airport on Tuesday was caused by ongoing excavation works, and not erratic power supply as speculated.

The airport management attributed the disruption to the excavation works, which affected the check-in systems, and assured that measures are in place to prevent such disruptions in the future.

On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at approximately 7:51 PM, a technical issue affected the check-in systems at Terminal 3 of Kotoka International Airport, resulting in a one-hour disruption. This incident caused delays in processing passengers and airline operations, leading to slower turnaround times.

The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) stated that passengers were promptly informed of the check-in system disruption through regular announcements, receiving timely updates on the situation as it evolved.

This proactive communication ensured that travelers were kept aware of the progress and any necessary adjustments to their travel plans.

The management of GACL offers sincere apologies to passengers impacted by the temporary downtime and reaffirms its dedication to ensuring a seamless travel experience across all airports under its operation.
