The SRC President of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Michael Abuah is being dragged on social media over alleged corruption regarding an educational trip he was supposed to embark on, in South Africa with his executives.

Reports filed on social media indicate that Michael Abuah failed to embark on the educational trip to South Africa, yet he was unable to account for the funds that were allocated for the trip.

The trip that was scheduled for Wednesday 22nd June 2022 to Saturday 25th June 2022 was planned under bilateral conversations with the SRC of Pretoria University and the South African Union of Students.

According to a statement released by the Student Representative Council of KNUST, the President, Michael Abuah, and his speaker were unable to embark on the South African trip due to some inconveniences they were meted with at the Kotoka International Airport.

The statement further stated that a delay in visa application caused the decision to select four executives out of the six-member delegations to take the lead to South Africa to represent the school while the President, Michael Abuah, and his speaker attend a council meeting in Takoradi.

It goes on to state that the President and his speaker planned on joining the other four executives in South Africa on Sunday 26th June 2022 after attending to his constitutional duties in Takoradi along with his speaker.

Well, rumors being speculated within the digital space has it that the President failed to embark on the said trip, nor has he been able to account for the funds that were allocated for the said trip. It is also alleged that the President had other plans besides the trip, hence squandering the money meant to secure the trip to South Africa.

However, the statement also adds that investigations are currently ongoing about the supposed inconvenience that prevented the President from embarking on this trip.
