Kurt Okraku is Ghana’s worst FA president in history – Ekow Asmah

Veteran Sports Journalist, Ekow Asmah has descended heavily on the current GFA Administration led by Kurt Okraku, saying he is the worst to have ever occupied the position in the country’s history.

Ekow Asmah made the statement in an interview on Happy98.9FM’s Wamputu Sports on Monday.

Focusing on the development of grassroots football under this current leadership, Mr. Ansah stated that Kurt Okraku and his Administration are to be blamed for the decline of football in the country.

“The Ministry of Youth and Sports including the Minister himself are not transparent and fair. If they were, they should be checking the GFA to know how things are being run, and how funds allocated to the Administration are used. Instead, what we see, is we have an FA president who has turned the Association into a friends and family entity and the Ministry is also silent,” he said.

“The Ministry has to be begged before revealing to the public the expenditure made on the Black Stars, Meteors, etc in friendlies or any major competition. Football in this country is on the decline and it’s sad,” he added.

He pledged his support for the former GFA Vice President, George Afriyie who declared his intention to contest the incumbent Kurt Okwraku in the upcoming GFA elections.

He is the second after Mr . Kojo Yanka to express interest in the position.

The elections are scheduled to take place in October this year.
