Mahama donates to NDC but doesn’t dictate how to use them – Mosquito to Duffuor

Aspiring Ashanti Region Secretary for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Kwasi Ofori Agyeman is alleging there is monetization underway ahead of the regional delegates’ congress of the party.

While speaking on Akoma FM‘s current affairs and political show GhanAkoma, Mr Ofori Agyeman complained Kwabena Duffour is sponsoring his opponent and huge sums of money are exchanging hands especially as the campaign intensifies.

Zuba, as he is widely known, told host of the show Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin that “I am aware that Kwabena Duffour has dropped GH¢400,000 to campaign for his favourite aspirant Amoakohene but I know the delegates are smart and they will choose me over money but the extent to which Kwabena Duffour is paying GH¢5,000 to each constituency is serious and he must be probed and called to order”.

When asked how he is campaigning without paying and inducement, he replied that he has a message and he is very experienced so he knows the delegates won’t choose GH¢170 over him.

He further explained that “Kwabena Duffour is paying GH¢5,000 to each constituency and there are 28 delegates in each constituency which means each delegate will take not less than GH¢180, so why must you sell your conscience for less than GH¢200?” he quizzed.

Who is Kwasi Ofori Agyeman?

As an immediate past Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Obuasi under the Mahama administration, Kwasi Ofori Agyeman served for four years until his party left power in 2016.

A prolific communicator and strategic politician, he has become an institution in the Ashanti politics and a force to reckon with and a bane to the NPP strategies in the region and beyond.

Zuba was called on by party faithfuls to contest the secretary position and steer the affairs of the party in the region to drive the party back into power come 2024.
