For the second window running on the FIFA International calendar, the Black Stars of Ghana will not be engaged in any international friendly due to lack of funds from both the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ghana Football Association.

According to our checks by Happy, Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah is worried over the recent happenings as the Black Stars will miss out on the FIFA International break this week.

Happy Sports understands, the Moroccan Football Federation had requested to play the Black Stars of Ghana in a friendly to be played in Rabat but the inability of the Ghana Football Association or the Sports Ministry to pre-finance the game by providing tickets to the invited players has led to the friendly been called off.

Kwesi Appiah would have wanted to play a friendly game to access his players before the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers begin next month.
After Ghana’s exit from the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, the Black Stars have not engaged in any friendly game as they missed the FIFA International break in September and are set to miss out again this October.

Meanwhile, Happy Sports can also confirm that Kwesi Appiah has submitted a list of names to the Normalisation Committee of the Ghana Football Association as he intends to make changes to his back room staff after the AFCON 2019 disappointing exit.

Appiah has proposed former Asante Kotoko coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor as his assistant to replace Ibrahim Tanko, Sarban Quaye as the new team manager to replace Stephen Appiah, Dr Prince Pambo as the team doctor and Najau Issah as the goalkeepers’ trainer.

The Normalisation Committee is yet to approve the list submitted by Kwesi Appiah
