Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has rejected claims that the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) defeat in the 2024 elections was solely due to bad governance. In a candid assessment, Acheampong emphasized that candidate appeal played a significant role in the party’s loss, stressing that a leader who fails to inspire hope cannot mobilize voters or win a national mandate.
Speaking to journalists at his office, Acheampong noted that leadership is about sparking hope and enthusiasm among the electorate. “Leadership inspires hope and that is what we lacked,” he stated bluntly.
According to him, the NPP’s challenge went beyond policy issues to the kind of leadership presented to the Ghanaian people.
