On Saturday, October 5th 2024, Ghanaians from all walks of life came together for the highly anticipated +233 Peace march organised by Let Love Lead NGO. The symbolic walk which was held from the Accra Mall to Elwak Stadium drew participation from Ghanaians including top dignitaries, security personnel, and influential personalities, all united in a call for peace and national unity ahead of the 2024 December general elections.

The march which kicked off at 6:00 am saw participants engaging thousands of Ghanaians on the 10 KM walk. These messages were passed through well-crafted peace messages on placards, speeches from dignitaries and performances from entertainers who participated in the walk.

The walk featured a host of prominent personalities and leaders, including Media Personality Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), Filmmaker Kofi Asamoah, Football Administrator Samuel Anim Addo, Musician Keche Joshua, Lead Pastor of the Pottersville Church Bishop Sam Owusu, WatsUp TV Founder ABD Traore, Chief Superintendent of Police Elvis Bawa Sadongo (Retired), Comedian MJ, Godwin Frimpong and other notable figures such as Executive Director of the Supreme Council for Arab-African Economy Hajj Mukaila Ahmed Akuamoah and Nii Anang Amanyankwa Obasaa, Chief of Leshie, La.

Addressing the crowd, the organizer and founder of Let Love Lead NGO, Big Dawood (also known as Nene Lartey Osakonor I), highlighted the role of every Ghanaian in maintaining peace. He stated, ‘Peace is the responsibility of every citizen. As we approach the December elections, let us all play our parts to ensure a smooth, peaceful, and credible process.’”
Key among the activities during the walk were horse riders wearing Let Love Lead NGO branded t-shirts who led the participants through the designated routes.

With the backing of key institutions like the Electoral Commission and the active support of the Ghana Police Service, the +233 Peace March succeeded in conveying a powerful message of national unity and set a positive tone for the upcoming elections.
Founded in 2020, Let Love Lead NGO is dedicated to supporting underprivileged communities through initiatives in education, healthcare, skills development, and community empowerment.

The +233 Peace March is one of its flagship programs, aimed at fostering a culture of peace, unity, and responsible civic engagement in Ghana. With the success of this year’s event, the organisation hopes to continue advocating for peace and inspiring Ghanaians to protect the stability and harmony that define the nation.
