Let's appreciate our rich African names- Madam Joyce Zampare

Madam Joyce Zampare popularly known as Jay-Zee  the current Greater Accra Women’s Organizer and aspiring for New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Women’s Organizer says upon hearing the earlier plans of  the Births and Deaths Registry on how to name children she got so pissed off.
‘In this era we living in where names  are used to differentiate or tell of one’s origin our local names cannot be banned she argued.

According to Jay-Zee on ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show hosted by Kwame Afrifa-Mensah on Happy 98.9 FM says ”the African culture can’t be undermine;  because it distinguishes us (Africans) from the other world.
Now when you look at Catholics style of naming, it easily gives their way because a Catholic won’t name a child without naming him or her after a saint; likewise Christians as well as our local names”.
She said when one takes a critical look at local names one can tell it differs because of the various ethnic groups.
” I must say am happy with what Hajia Alima, the minister for Local Government and Rural Development  did.
Our rich culture can’t be changed because we are proud Africans”.
