Mahama will not accept the result of flawed elections even if he wins – NDC Communicator

A member of the National Democratic Congress’ communication team, Kweku Owusu Banahene has revealed that Former President and flagbearer of the opposition NDC John Mahama will not accept the result of a flawed election even if he is declared the winner of the December poll.

Though he admits that the country’s election management body has been a model organization within Africa, he maintains that the current Commission as constituted cannot be trusted to rise to the occasion when the need arises.

Speaking on Happy FM’s Epa Hoa Daben show with Kwame Afrifa-Mensah, Banahene questioned the competence of the Commissioners of the electoral management body and accused them of deliberately re-assigning persons who can deliver on the job because they worked with the former Chairperson of the EC.

“The EC has been over-pampered, and their incompetence is legendary. If the law really works in Ghana, Jean Mensah should be in court by now for causing financial loss to the state.

All the machines they procured, today they are telling us some them are not working. They told us the register is bloated because a population of 30 million is impossible for you to have a voter register of 15 million so they want to compile a new register, today check we have close to 19 million people with the same 30 million population. Which fraud is more than this? He quizzes.

Mahama has already served notice that he and the NDC will not accept the result of flawed elections even if he Mahama is declared the winner and the result is flawed, he will reject it.

Explaining what flawed election meant, he said the process leading to the December polls all constitute to a flawed election.

John Mahama on last Thursday reiterated an earlier warning that his party will not accept the results of a flawed electoral process.

Addressing NDC supporters at Abura as part of his five-day campaign tour of the Central Region, he said the Electoral Commission (EC) from all indications has set out to organise a flawed election.

“We are not trouble makers. We want to make sure that all of us believe in this election so that if you win or lose, you are prepared to accept. But when we complain, they think that we are just causing trouble.

“This can lead this nation to chaos because I have said it, on December 7 when this election is flawed, we will not accept it. Who accepts a flawed
election? Nobody.
