The front bench of the Majority Caucus in Parliament has donated their March salaries to the Ghana Sports Fund in a show of support for sports development in the country.
The gesture follows a similar commitment by the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams, who earlier announced that he would donate two months of his salary to the Fund effective February 2026.
The Minister made the disclosure when he appeared before Parliament to deliver a statement on the Ghana Sports Fund.
He used the opportunity to call for collective support from stakeholders to ensure the success of the initiative.
According to him, the Ghana Sports Fund has been structured to promote transparency and accountability in the management of resources.
He explained that the Fund is designed to support sports infrastructure development, school and grassroots sports, elite athlete preparation, welfare systems, and recreational activities across the country.
Mr. Adams further informed the House that the National Investment Bank has demonstrated leadership by donating GH¢100,000 to the Fund.
Other Members of Parliament also contributed to the Ghana Sports Fund during the sitting, signaling broad parliamentary backing for the initiative aimed at revitalizing sports in Ghana.
