Martha Bissah must apologize before her suspension will be lifted- GAA Gen. Secretary

Kwaku Nimako, a representative of US-based Ghanaian sprinter Martha Bissah says they have been betrayed by her decision to render an apology to Professor Francis Doudou and the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA).

Bissah, since 2016 has been on an indefinite suspension from the GAA after she accused the association’s officials, which was headed by Professor Dodoo.
The Olympic youth gold medalist was suspended following her claims which the GAA considered as indiscipline and peddling lies against the association.

Bissah and her entourage accused the GAA of extortion while working on a scholarship for her to move to the United States after winning gold medal at the 2014 Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China.

She was asked to issue an apology to the parties involved in order to see her ban lifted.

However, her camp are unhappy over her decision to render the apology without their consent.

According to Kwaku Nimako, Martha Bissah has been forced to render the apology and the team feels betrayed by her decision because they were not consulted.

“We feel betrayed about what Martha Bissah has done. It is either Martha Bissah is lying to the whole world or she is telling the truth”, Kwaku Nimako told Odiasempa Kwame Oware on Happy 98.9FM.

“She has admitted to us that she has signed the letter even though admitting that she still stands by what she said.

Nimako also made allegations against National Sports Authority (NSA) boss Professor Peter Twumasi on Martha Bissah’s apology letter.

“Professor Peter Twumasi forced Martha Bissau to sign the letter. He just wants to score a cheap political point. The letter was drafted by Professor Peter Twumasi for Martha Bissah to sign.

“If the NSA boss wanted to do Martha Bissah good why did he put the defamatory issue in it. For all you know she has been compromised. Maybe the NSA boss didn’t act in good faith feel betrayed by what she has done”.
