Martha Bissah’s decision to apologize was a wrong move- Ex-Ghanaian athlete Esther Dankwah

Former Ghanaian athlete, Esther Dankwah, says Martha Bissah’s decision to apologize to Professor Francis Doudou and the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) is a wrong move and a stab in the back to all those who defended her.

Bissah, since 2016 has been on an indefinite suspension from the GAA after she accused the association’s officials, which was headed by Professor Dodoo.

The Olympic youth gold medalist was suspended following her claims which the GAA considered as indisciplined and peddling lies against the association.

Speaking in an interview on Happy Sports with Ohene-Bampoe Brenya on the issue, Esther Dankwah said Martha Bissah will be crucified for her u-turn on the matter.

“A lot of us fought for Martha Bissah. I heard she signed a letter to apologize. How do you possibly apologize for saying the truth? She should have just run for another country. They have treated you bad and now you backtrack.

“Whoever wrote the letter for her has crucified her because I know Ghana. Her position now is risky. She thinks she wants to continue her career but I think it was a wrong move.

“How could she say sorry knowing the truth? Now she Martha Bissah has betrayed all those who stood by her”, she indicated.
