The popularity of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia within New Patriotic Party (NPP) circles appears to be on the rise, especially after the frenzy which characterised the filing of his nomination forms last Friday.
Right after filing his nomination form, with a mammoth crowd accompanying him, Vice President Bawumia did not take things for granted.
He moved straight into action by starting a tour of the Greater Accra Region later in the day, with visits to Nima in Ayawaso East and La in the La Dadekotopon constituencies.
Then on Saturday, the Vice President continued his tour with visits to Sege, Ada, Kpone Katamanso and Ashaiman constituencies, where he interacted with NPP party delegates.
One characteristic of the visits is the massive show of love party members in all these Constituencies display to the Vice President.
In many of these constituencies, members arrive hours before the scheduled arrival time of Dr. Bawumia, and they dance to music and chant his name in songs, in obvious support of his Presidential bid.
