In the aftermath of Medeama FC’s dramatic 2-1 victory over CR Belouizdad in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League, the club’s Communication Director, Patrick Akoto, has expressed gratitude to neutral supporters and addressed the team’s progress.

Akoto in an interview on Happy FM acknowledged the crucial support from fans during Friday’s match, stating, “We appreciate the neutral supporters who rallied behind Medeama. Your presence did not go unnoticed, and it spurred the team on.The atmosphere at the Baba Yara was perfect for the team”.

Reflecting on the upcoming challenges, Akoto emphasized the need for a flawless performance in the next game, asserting, “We can’t afford to slip in our next match against Young Africans. I urge all our supporters to stay behind us; your unwavering support fuels our determination.”

The thrilling encounter against CR Belouizdad saw Medeama facing adversity, conceding an early penalty but making a strong comeback. Daniel Lomotey’s equalizer and Mamudu Kamaradin’s late winner secured a vital victory for the Ghanaians.

Despite the triumph, Akoto hinted at Medeama’s ongoing development, stating, “We are still a work in progress. The team showed character, but there’s room for improvement. We’ll continue working hard to achieve our goals.”

The Yellow and Mauves will play host to the Tanzanian champions in the third round of the Champions League group stage at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi this Friday.
