President Akufo-Addo while presenting his 4th address to the Nation on Friday, 27 March announced that he has forfeited his three months salary for the Fund which has been set up to assist the needy and vulnerable who will be affected by the pandemic in any way.

The move was seconded by Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia who also donated his three-months salary after the President’s announcement for the same cause.

The latest to join are not only Ministers of State and Presidential aides but also Deputy Ministers who have also agreed to donate 50% of their two-month salaries to the fund.

According to Eugene Arhin, the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare has notified the Controller and Accountant General to commence action on the pledges and transfer the accrued monies to the State fund.
