Director of Communications of the 2024 Bawumia Campaign Team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has criticized Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, over his emotional response to the devastation caused by illegal mining in the country.

The minister, visibly moved during a recent press briefing, paused mid speech to wipe away tears as he described the environmental destruction in the Tano Nimiri Forest Reserve.

Speaking in an interview on Tuesday, April 22, Miracles Aboagye dismissed the minister’s emotional display as unproductive.

He argued that such reactions send the wrong message to Ghanaians, portraying helplessness rather than decisive action.

“Whoever directed the minister to cry did him a disservice. We didn’t vote for you to go and cry,”.

He criticized the minister for failing to deliver on promises to tackle galamsey, referencing past statements where the minister and his colleagues claimed they had solutions to the crisis.
