The Kingdom of Morocco led by the Moroccan Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Imane Ouadil participated in a two-day memorable bazaar geared towards raising funds for the Street Academy– a non-governmental organization (NGO) which houses over six hundred children grooming them through quality education, culture and sports to expose their talents while offering free basic healthcare.

The event was organized by the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in partnership with selected foreign missions in Ghana for its first Christmas charity bazaar which commenced on Saturday, November 26 and ended on Sunday, 27th.

The first-ever Christmas Charity Bazaar was opened to the general public from 11 am to 5 pm on each day with an entry fee of GH¢20 to be donated to less privileged children under the care of Street Academy. In addition, the missions gave away 50 per cent of proceeds from their sales to the charity.

The Kingdom of Morocco alongside other embassies including Israel, Japan, Spain, Germany, India, Turkey, New Zealand, Morocco, Hungary, South Africa, France, and the Ghana Italian Women Association (GIWA), representing Italy participated in the heartfelt initiative.

Her Excellency, Imane Ouadil highlighted the significance of the initiative to the Moroccan Embassy.

“The Embassy took part in the diplomatic charity bazaar because we considered it a good occasion to show solidarity and come as a group to help the community in this festive season. We raised a good amount of money which will contribute to bringing joy and relief to many homeless children. The Moroccan Embassy is happy to have brought its contribution to this collective effort and would gladly be part in other such initiatives.” she shared.

The bazaar was however not short of fun and cultural experiences from the various embassies as patrons were treated to some traditional and popular Moroccan delicacies including Moroccan tea, cookies, chicken & Olive Tagine and Moroccan Tanjia among other delicious foodstuffs which had resounding success at the stall. On display were also Moroccan dresses, shoes, and bags among others.

Patrons who looked to grab some items for the Christmas festivities got their worth as did others who tasted new delicacies from various countries. There was something for everyone to take home with a variety of stands offering a selection of jewellers, local accessories, art and craft from recycled materials, locally made body oils, soap, chocolates and other wellness products.
