The family of the O’Reilly student murdered by a schoolmate has scheduled his funeral for October 18, 2024.

Enock Bortey Sackey, the grieving father, in a recent interview indicated that this decision was influenced by the progress of the case at the La District Court.

In a recent development in the Republic vs. Godwin Mawuli case, Prosecutor Paul Osei Adjei announced that the duplicate docket has been sent to the Attorney-General’s office.

He stated that, due to procedural requirements, it will pass through the Regional Office and Headquarters before reaching its final destination.

To expedite the process, the investigator has been tasked with personally following up on the matter, given its significant public interest.

In a stern address to the father of the deceased Edward Bortey Sackey, the judge emphasized that the docket preparation is complete and has been forwarded.

The judge urged him not to slack off, advising him to maintain pressure on the police to ensure progress in the case.

The accused, Godwin Mawuli, has been remanded for two weeks again, and the case has been adjourned until October 21, 2024.

The judge urged Gordon Mawuli to get a legal representation.
