Renowned Gospel musician, Martin Hayford has shared his personal struggle with the challenges his feminine voice has posed in the realm of relationships particularly in the context of marriage.

Known for his soulful and unique vocal style, Hayford has captured the hearts of many with his uplifting Gospel tunes.
In an exclusive interview with Isaac Addae on the Happy98.9FM’s Happy Bible Quiz show, he spoke about how his distinctive voice has led to misunderstandings and issues in his personal life.

“While my voice has been a blessing in my music career, it has presented some unexpected challenges in my personal life. Sometime ago I was talking to someone who I was suppose to meet, but throughout the conversation the person thought I was a woman, but when I got there and he met me he was confused, he couldn’t recognize me because he was expecting a woman” he indicated.

The Ewurade Bohye hitmaker added that there have been instances where he has been misgendered due to his voice and created issues in people’s marriages, “When I speak to people’s husbands or if I call and the wives pick up, I mostly have to explain myself to them so that they don’t panic.”
