NDC opens nominations for Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election

The main opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) has announced nominations for Parliamentary Primaries in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency of the Greater Accra region, ahead of the by-elections.

The Ayawaso West Wuogon Parliamentary seat became vacant following the demise of Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko who was the legislator for the constituency on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party.

Prospective candidates interested in the seat must pick up the forms at the cost of GHC1,000 today December 17 and 18 and file the forms by Friday, December 21, 2018.

“The cost of the nomination forms and filing fees as provided for in Section D subsection 2 and 3 of the Guidelines for the Parliamentary primaries is GHC1,000 (One thousand Ghana Cedis) and GHC10,000 (Ten Thousand Ghana CediS) respectively, with a 50% discount of Filing fees for females and persons with Disability,” the statement said.

NDC OPENS NOMINATIONS FOR AYAWASO WEST WUOGON PARLIAMENTARY PRIMARIES

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has opened nominations for Parliamentary Primaries in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency of the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency ahead of the by-elections.

We, wish to indicate that the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) acting on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC) has notified the Constituency Executives in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency to open nomination for the Parliamentary Primaries in accordance with article 41 of the NDC Constitution.”

Picking of Nominations forms starts from Monday 17th to 18th December, 2018. Other electoral activities for the primaries are as follows;

  1. Filing of Nomination     Friday  21st December, 2018
  2. Vetting                          Saturday 22nd December, 2018
  3. Elections                        Friday 28th December, 2018

The cost of nominations forms and filing fees as provided for in Section D, sub section 2 and 3 of the Guidelines for the Parliamentary primaries is GH₵1,000.00 (One Thousand Ghana Cedis) and GH₵10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis) respectively, with a 50% discount on the Filing fees for females and Persons with Disability.”

All prospective aspirants are encouraged to pick their nomination forms from the Constituency Secretariat between 9am to 5pm each day.
