Supporters and followers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have filled the streets of Adabraka in Accra, celebrating in anticipation of John Dramani Mahama’s declaration as Ghana’s president-elect.

This comes after Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia delivered a concession speech at a press conference today, acknowledging that Mahama had won the presidential race ‘decisively’.

Followers of the political party, young and old alike, expressed their joy upon hearing the news of Dr. Bawumia’s conceding.

Staunch NDC supporter, Hajia Sirina in an engagement with happyghana.com explained that John Mahama who is set to be announced President-elect of Ghana will liberate many from hardships that have burdened them.

She added that the policies of Mr. Mahama are more efficient and forward-thinking than that of the NPP government. “Mahama’s policies and initiatives are without blemish, but for the other government, there’s always a defect.” she said

Free SHS, for instance, is a quantity over quality kind of initiative; I’d rather choose to pay for my children to be given quality education than to have it free and see them being treated anyhow.” she added.

NDC officials are expected to address their supporters soon at the party’s headquarters after they conclude a closed-door meeting currently in progress.
