A youth group aligned with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has forcibly locked up the Western Regional office of the National Service Secretariat (NSS) in protest against the appointment of Daniel Dawusu as Regional Coordinator.
The group expressed dissatisfaction with the decision to transfer Dawusu, arguing that the appointment undermines local representation.
They insist that the position should be filled by someone from the Western Region to better reflect the interests of the area.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, April 16, NDC Constituency Youth Organiser Kwabena Afriyie justified the group’s actions, stating, “We have locked up the office, and if given the chance again. We’ll lock it up till our demands are met.”
Afriyie further emphasized the group’s stance, urging authorities to withdraw Dawusu’s appointment and instead assign the candidate they have recommended.
“All we are saying is, they should withdraw those they have brought to the region and assign the name that we have presented to the office for the job, because he is also qualified to do the job. There will be peace in the region if they meet our demand”.
