Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama has said that all political appointees and politically exposed individuals under his administration shall be exempted as beneficiaries of national scholarship programs in Ghana.

Mr. Mahama made this announcement at the launch of the NDC 2024 Manifesto on Saturday, August 24, 2024 held at the University of Education, Winneba as part of a list of initiatives to improve Ghana ‘s education sector.

He sternly cautioned all members of the National Democratic Congress and affiliates to stay clear of all scholarship programs. “No political appointee or politically exposed individual shall be placed on scholarship under my administration; none of my children shall be placed on any national scholarship program”.

Mahama noted that the clearance of such individuals will give the marginalized in society the opportunity to access quality education. “The scholarships are for the underprivileged and those who cannot afford; they are the ones who must get the scholarships.”
