The Nkoranza Traditional Council and the Nkoranza Market Queenmother, Hajia Damass have performed customary rites to begin the 2024 new yam selling and usage in the Nkoranza traditional area.

This ceremonial act paves way for the buying and selling of yams in Nkoranza market.

The event was attended by hundreds of residents, including traditional authorities, religious leaders, and traders

The rites included pouring of libation and prayers led by a pastor.

Oheneba Agyei Baffoe, the Ankobeahene of the Nkoranza traditional council advised the traders to adhere to market regulations and seek peace, and urged the market women and men to desist from bad behavior.

The Queenmother also admonished marketers to follow rules and regulations and expressed gratitude to traditional and religious leaders for attending the event.
