Chief Executive Officer of DataBank, Kojo Addae Mensah, has stated that the Normalisation Committee should have allowed Division One clubs to participate in the Special Competition after the withdrawal of Premier League clubs from the competition.

On Monday, the proposed Special Competition aimed at engaging Ghanaian clubs whilst the reformation of Ghana football takes shape by the Normalisation Committee was cancelled after the Premier League clubs failed to come to an agreement with the Normalisation Committee.

Speaking to Ohene Bampoe-Brenya on Happy FM’s Anopa Bosuo Sports, Kojo Addae Mensah, who doubles as a football analyst, declared that the Committee committed a blunder in calling off the competition after failing to allow Division One clubs to participate in the tournament after the withdrawal of Premier League clubs.

“Today is a very sad day for Ghana football. I don’t understand what’s going on,” he stated on Happy FM.

“This is not our Ghana football, I’m very sad about the situation. The Normalisation Committee should not have cancelled the Special Competition. They should gone ahead and play the competition with the Division One clubs and forgo the elite clubs.”
